Am dat din intamplare peste acest feature in xfce, presupun ca se poate si in windowmanagere diferite de xfwm.

Nu aveti nevoie de XGL/AIGLX, aveti nevoie doar de xorg >= 6.8.

Se compileaza xorg cu suport Composite, se activeaza din xorg.conf extensia Composite si se compileaza xfce cu extensia composite. Voila, aveti umbre (si transparente si de altele). Dezavantalul e un consum mai mare de procesor.

Daca nu aveti placa video ca lumea nici sa nu va ganditi. Cand am pus de proba Xubuntu 6.06, era activat implicit. Abia am reusit sa intru in setarile X, ca sa dezactivez minunea, de incet ce se misca sistemul Smiley

Eu am un Gf2MX400@64M si se misca acceptabil. Nu perfect dar acceptabil Smiley.

mere fain, dar pe nVidia, driveru AMD/ATI e stricat la capitolu ăsta
mere fain pe un GF2MX 32Mb integrat Wink
consum de procesor destul de mic
pe Zenwalk/AXP1700+/256ram

Pai am de gand sa imi iau laptop cat de curand, si oricum atunci cand schimb desktop-ul il schimb de tot. Nu mai bag bani in el. Ca pute de vechi ce e Smiley
